Gratefully - Some Muslims Speak Out Publicly But Why Can We Find Only Two????

ONE ARAB'S APOLOGY By EMILIO KARIM DABUL at the New York Post Online Edition: PostOpinion

And here from PLANCK'S CONSTANT: AS A MUSLIM I MUST APOLOGIZE is an extremely well written, detailed piece that serves up a fascinating explanation interspersed with quotes from the Koran. The Muslim Blogger candidly admits that the Koran (he spells it Quran) "is a military code book filled with techniques in terror..." Now a careful reading will reveal that he does not totally disvow the teachings of the Koran. For example he writes "I apologize that we act in a manner that to you is irrational, vicious, inhumane, brutal, abominable, unconscionable, and in utter contempt for human dignity and sanctity of life, but for us to act thus is merely being orthodox to our faith and submissive to the Will of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
which is not a I don't pretend to understand the motivations of the "terrorists" but I can read. I know that many Muslims make what I think are excuses for the clear language in the Koran calling for the deaths of non-believers. I admit that even the Old testament was and is harsh and asked the participants of the time to do horrid things (sacrifice your son, etc.) and I totally think that was wrong. I too would like to make excuses and say that the words don't mean what the say - but how. I totally disavow and acts that would cause one person to strike out against another in the name of his or her G-d. I don't think G-d can justify any actions that are not in furtherance of good. Self defense, even in advance of the act, on a whole I can agree. I cannot agree to harm others for religion.

The Muslims must at least admit what Planck's Constant does - that the Koran
amounts to "a manual for the conquest of the world." Just take the first step in admitting the plain meanings of its contents.

As I read in a comment on one of the blogs was that why is this FIVE (5) years in the coming? Either way, better late than never. I only wish I read more like them. These two "articles" are MUST READS. The problem as I see it is that so far the blogosphere seems to have only found these two (2) pieces to point to - only two that rise to the level of apology or admissions of responsibility out of the millions of other postings that may at best explain and give excuses.
